Question 1

How much space do I need for a golf simulator?

Accepted Answer

Plan on about 10 ft wide, 15 ft deep and 9 ft of ceiling height for a comfortable full-swing setup. The workable minimum is roughly 9 ft wide, 12 ft deep and 8.5 ft high. If both right- and left-handed golfers will use the room, aim for 12 ft of width.

Question 2

What is the minimum ceiling height for a golf simulator?

Accepted Answer

8.5 ft is the practical minimum for full swings, and 9 to 10 ft is ideal for most adult golfers using a driver. Always measure to the lowest obstruction — a duct, beam or light fixture — rather than to the drywall.

Question 3

Can a golf simulator fit in a room with an 8-foot ceiling?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with realistic expectations. Many golfers swing irons freely at 8 ft and use a controlled driver swing. Use a low-profile or retractable enclosure, a side-mounted launch monitor instead of an overhead unit, and a short-throw projector.

Question 4

What is the best golf simulator for a small room?

Accepted Answer

A folding or retractable enclosure paired with a camera-based launch monitor that sits beside the ball — such as the Uneekor EYE MINI or Foresight GC3 — plus a short-throw projector. Camera units need far less depth behind the ball than radar.

Question 5

What golf simulator is best for a basement?

Accepted Answer

A retractable or low-profile enclosure with a side-mounted camera launch monitor and a short-throw projector. Measure clearance to the lowest duct in the swing zone, and add a dehumidifier to protect the screen, turf and electronics.

Question 6

What is the best golf simulator enclosure?

Accepted Answer

For a room that has another use, a retractable enclosure such as the SportScreen Vanish. For a dedicated simulator room, a fixed SimBooth kit gives you a larger screen for less money. For practice only, a Net Return net.

Question 7

Are folding golf simulator enclosures worth it?

Accepted Answer

They are worth it whenever the room can't be given over to golf full-time. A folding enclosure collapses to roughly a 2-foot-deep frame, so a garage still parks a car and a family room stays a family room. The trade-off is a higher price than a fixed enclosure of the same screen size.

Question 8

Can a golf simulator enclosure be folded away?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our folding enclosures and the retractable SportScreen Vanish, Vanish Lite and Parlour collapse against the wall in under a minute, leaving roughly a 2-foot-deep frame.

Question 9

How does the Hideaway folding golf simulator enclosure work?

Accepted Answer

The frame and impact screen fold back flat against the wall into approximately a 2-foot-deep footprint. Setup and takedown take under a minute, so the room returns to everyday use between sessions. Sizing and installation are quoted per room.

Question 10

Do I need an enclosure, or is a net enough?

Accepted Answer

A net is enough if you only want to practise with a launch monitor. You need an enclosure with an impact screen if you want to project courses and play simulated rounds.

Question 11

What launch monitors work with a golf simulator?

Accepted Answer

Trackman, Uneekor, Foresight Sports, Garmin, Rapsodo, TruGolf and ProTee units all drive simulator software. Exact compatibility with GSPro, E6 Connect, TGC and FSX varies by model and configuration — tell us which software you want to run and we'll confirm the pairing.

Question 12

Which golf simulator brands are available in Canada?

Accepted Answer

Hideaway Golf Simulators carries Trackman, Uneekor, Foresight Sports, Garmin, Rapsodo, TruGolf and ProTee launch monitors, SportScreen and SimBooth enclosures, SimSpace turf, The Net Return nets, and BenQ projectors — all shipped across Canada.

Question 13

Is a camera or radar launch monitor better for indoor golf?

Accepted Answer

Camera-based units are generally better indoors. They read the ball at impact from beside the tee, while radar tracks the ball in flight from behind the golfer and needs several feet of run-up.

Question 14

What simulation software works with your products?

Accepted Answer

We support GSPro, TGC 2019, E6 Connect and the software bundled with specific launch monitors. Our team can help you choose based on your device and how you plan to play.

Question 15

What kind of projector do I need?

Accepted Answer

A short-throw projector in most rooms. Match the projector's throw ratio to the projection ratio listed for your enclosure size, and mount it where a club can never reach it.

Question 16

Do I need a dedicated computer?

Accepted Answer

Most simulator software runs on a Windows PC with a dedicated graphics card. Some launch monitors offer phone or tablet practice modes, but full course play generally needs a PC. Our packages include configured gaming PCs.

Question 17

How much does a golf simulator cost in Canada?

Accepted Answer

It depends entirely on the launch monitor and enclosure you choose — entry-level practice setups sit at the low end, while dedicated rooms with overhead launch monitors and fixed enclosures sit far higher. Every product on this site shows current pricing, and the bundle builder totals a complete package as you select components.

Question 18

Do you ship across Canada?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we ship to every province and territory. Larger items such as enclosures ship by freight carrier to your door, and SimBooth shipping is calculated by region at checkout.

Question 19

Can I install the simulator myself?

Accepted Answer

Most customers install their own simulators with our guides and support. Ceiling-mounted launch monitors, permanent framing and electrical work are better handled by a professional — we can help arrange installation.

Question 20

What is your warranty and return policy?

Accepted Answer

Most hardware includes manufacturer warranty coverage, and return eligibility and windows vary by product. See our returns and refunds policy or contact us about a specific item.
